Bouza do Rei


The Bouza do Rei winery was founded in 1984, being one of the first wineries of the Denomination of Origin. It has been the promoter and creator, in the process of formation and consolidation, of the Rías Baixas Designation of Origin (Appeal). The history of the winery is a continuous process of growth in all aspects. From the initial 20 hectares, owned and controlled plantations have gradually increased to 100 hectares.
The Bouza do Rei winery is located in Ribadumia, in the heart of the Salnés Valley, between the Arousa and Pontevedra estuaries, in Galicia. “O Salnés” is the largest coastal plain in Galicia, and, consequently, one of the most fertile. Every day all kinds of garden products (tomatoes, peppers, kiwis…) depart from this region and one of the most demanded and recognized white wines of Spain in the world is produced: Albariño. These are lowlands (its height is less than 300 m), close to the sea and associated with the lower reaches of river courses, which establishes the climatic characteristics of Atlantic influence (mild temperatures and high and well-distributed rainfall, with a hydric descent in summer). Its production is monovarietal Albariño wine, giving this grape variety all the prominence, as it is an exceptional grape with a great capacity to produce sugars and its richness in aromatic and flavour components.

The Bouza do Rei Albariño is straw-yellow with a shining appearance. On the nose, a fragrant, very intense bouquet. Full of floral and fruity undertones of a great subtlety. On the palate, smooth tasting. Filled with pleasant hints of citric infusions. Flavoursome with a fruity sensation. A persistent, fine aftertaste and refreshing finish.

This Albariño displays its Atlantic heritage and as such is well suited to accompany fresh seafood, grilled octopus, baked oysters, and other fish preparations. Also a good choice with seafood risotto and paella.
