Weingut Sepp Moser

The Moser family is one of Austria’s grand, traditional viticultural dynasties. Nikolaus (Niki) Moser represents the fifth generation and is the grand son of the legendary Dr. Lenz Moser who played a very integral part in modernizing the Austrian vineyard management through the introduction of the “Lenz Moser system” that contributed to the economic survival of many wine producers.

In 1987, Niki’s father Sepp Moser branched out on his own and started the estate of Sepp Moser with vineyards in Rohrendorf (Krems) and in Apleton (Burgenland). In 2000, Niki took over and started the conversion to biodynamic viticulture, becoming one of the first estates in Austria to be certified by the Demeter organization. The terraced vineyards by Krems are mainly producing the estate’s white wines with the vineyards in Burgenland producing predominantly red wines. Visiting Niki and his family is a true pleasure as the visitors are treated with a warm, authentic generosity and hospitality.
