Tenuta Pederzana

Italy

The Tenuta Pederzana vineyard and estates were born shortly after the second world war. Franco Simonini, a very ambitious and passionate grower in Castelvetro, decided to take a risk and purchased a beautiful vineyard outside of his home town. He had been waiting for this particular piece as he believed in its great potential to grow premium Lambrusco grapes. Franco started a project with the University of Bologna to identify the best clone of the noble grape variety of the area, Grasparossa Di Castelvetro. They succeeded and came up with a clone that cannot be found anywhere else in the world.

Today, Franco’s nephew Francesco Gibellini operates the estate together with his wife Laura and uncle Massimo. They continue Franco’s vision of producing exquisite Lambrusco wines of great character and complexity.

Tenuta Pederzana Lambrusco Grasparossa di Castelvetro Cantolibero · Profile

A delightful wine with an alluring inky dark appearance. Exuberant black fruit and Morello cherry flavours are balanced by firm tannins and a tangy acidity.

Tenuta Pederzana Lambrusco Grasparossa di Castelvetro Cantolibero · Pairing

An intriguing aperitif that also matches well with Asian inspired dishes, salads, red sauce pasta dishes, pizza, slightly fatty dishes with pork, and savoury appetizers.

Great for a picnic.
